Smooth Edge Dollars

Smooth Edge Dollars are error coins from the Presidential Dollar series. These are also sometimes referred to as "Plain Edge Dollars" or "Missing Edge Lettering Dollars."

Presidential Dollars are supposed to have the mottos "In God We Trust" and "E Pluribus Unum" and the date and mint mark inscribed on the edges of the coins. A small number of coins were released by the US Mint without the edge lettering included.
